What Parents Say
Our Core Philosophy
Everything we do comes back to three beliefs:
Confidence
Understanding
Enjoyment
Everything we do comes back to three beliefs: help a child understand maths properly and their confidence grows. Confidence leads to enjoyment...and when children enjoy maths, they don't just pass tests - they become curious learners who persevere.
Your child doesn't need to be "naturally good at maths" or a "numbers person." They just need someone who can explain it in a way that makes sense for them.
That's what our team of tutors does, every single session.
Online Learning That Works
This is nothing like lockdown.
Remember those frustrating months of large online lessons where your child zoned out after ten minutes? This is completely different!
Your child gets one-to-one or small group support, delivered at their exact level and pace.
Here's what happens in a session:
Before the lesson starts, the tutor has already reviewed what your child struggled with last time and planned targeted activities.
During the 30-60 minutes together:
- The tutor shares their screen with your child
- The tutor uses digital whiteboards and resources to explain concepts visually
- They work through problems together in real-time
- Your child can ask questions the moment they're confused - no waiting
- The tutor adapts on the spot based on what's clicking and what isn't
After each lesson, you receive feedback on what was covered and how your child progressed.
It's focused. It's interactive.
I was rather dubious about online learning, however lessons are engaging and tailored around H's needs. Lindsey always asks about H's week and what she’s found difficult at school, Lindsey then adapts the session accordingly. H finds every lesson vital and fun and enjoys her 1:1 time

We Work with Children Who...
The Reach Online Tutoring Approach
We're all qualified teachers - and that's important to us.
Every tutor on our team is a qualified teacher with years of UK classroom experience. They are trained educators who understands child development, progression in maths topics, how to spot the key gaps that hold children back, and have a full toolkit of teaching strategies.
That matters to us. It's why a child who's been "stuck" on fractions for two years suddenly gets it after a few sessions. It's why we can tell when test anxiety (not maths ability) is the real problem. It's why we know multiple different ways to teach the same concept.
Different specialists for different ages
Our team includes qualified teachers who specialise in early years, Key Stage 1 or 2, others who focus on GCSE preparation, others who work primarily with A-level students. When you get in touch, our founder Lindsey personally matches your child with the tutor who's the best fit for their age, level, learning style, and goals.
You're getting the right specialist for your child.
We use what actually works
Visual representations. Concrete examples (yes, even online). Step-by-step explanations. Mental maths strategies. Real-world applications. Our teachers draw on proven methods to help concepts click.
We make lessons interactive, interesting and enjoyable.
"Lindsey completely tailored the lessons to suit the things my daughter needed to cover, in a way that suited her learning style. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her."

Why Reach Online Tutoring Exists:
I struggled with maths at school and spent years believing I wasn't a "maths person."
Then I became a teacher and learned how to teach maths using visual methods, concrete resources, and different approaches. Suddenly I understood it. I wasn't bad at maths at all—I just needed to be taught differently.
That experience is why Reach Online Tutoring exists. I don't want any child to feel the way I felt.
After 21 years as a primary teacher and deputy head, I started tutoring and have never looked back.
We're now a fabulous small team, supporting students all the way up to their A levels, with each tutor bringing their own expertise and specialisms. But my mission hasn't changed: help every child discover they're actually brilliant at maths - they just need someone to show them how.
